For this project, I collaborated with Stiefacademie Nederland to produce a documentary exploring the experiences of individuals living in blended families. The goal was to create an authentic and emotionally engaging story that encouraged understanding while giving participants the opportunity to share their experiences in their own words.

From the earliest stages of the project, I was responsible for developing the creative concept, planning the production, and shaping the documentary's visual direction. Working closely with the client, I translated a sensitive subject into a clear narrative that balanced honesty, empathy, and cinematic storytelling.

Throughout the production, I managed every stage of the filmmaking process, including pre-production, interviewing, cinematography, lighting, audio recording, editing, colour grading, sound design, and final delivery. Creating a comfortable environment for the participants was essential, allowing genuine conversations to unfold naturally and ensuring every story was represented with care and respect.

The documentary was praised by the client for its authentic portrayal of life within blended families and its ability to communicate complex emotions through visual storytelling. This project strengthened my documentary filmmaking skills while reinforcing the importance of empathy, preparation, and collaboration when telling real human stories.
